Our Club is a Parkland Course which is 103 years old. It has some very challenging holes and a test to anybody is the par 3 9th which you can barely see the top of the flag and at 243 yards it tests even the best of golfers. We have recently acquired 40 acres of land and added a practice ground to hone your skills.

Harwich and Dovercourt golf club is a friendly members club and a great venue for a day's golf, with excellent catering facilities. Green fees are more than welcome and no need to book but might be a good idea to phone first to make sure there are no competitions. Also societies are welcome and advanced booking would be needed.

Our Club is forever encouraging new members so, if you feel you would like to join our friendly club, please feel free to speak to any of the members or staff who will be glad to help.

Our Club has recently enjoyed a fantastic Centenary year (2006) and had some very good competitions. We celebrated also with a special Dinner and had guest speakers, which included ex England goalkeeper Peter Shilton and World Snooker Champion Dennis Taylor. Both Peter and Dennis stayed for the next days Golf and enjoyed a great day on our course.

Our newly acquired practice ground is a great help if you need to sort out any niggles or need a whole new swing. Every year we have free lessons from a pro so phone to find out when they are next on. If you are new to the game or just wish to tidy elements of your swing up it is worth while coming down.

The friendly 19th is many of the golfers favourite hole. Many a game has been replayed with a couple of jars and future games being easier with the correct amount of lubricant. Why wait? Our lush course awaits you.

If you look on the fixtures list you will see that it is updated all the way through to December 2009. There may be some changes but you will be informed of these via e-mail or the club notice board. Also if anybody has any ideas for social events please feel free to see Greg Mann or any of the Social Committee.

Well worth a mention is the greens staff that has done a fantastic job in keeping the fairways and greens in pristine condition. Just to walk round our course is relaxing enough with all the lush fairways and subtle rough. Well done to Lee, Grant and Pip.

Our Club has been given the prestigious Golf Mark Award. This award is for Identifying junior and beginner friendly golf facilities. We are very proud of our Junior section and credit must be given to Jeff Murray for his tireless work for whom none of this would have been possible. Mr Murray has had help from Tony Eves who tirelessly gives his time in aiding the Junior section. A big thanks to both Mr Murray and Mr Eves.
